WaterGate opens in sensational style to a fabulous fiesta of Lebanese haute couture, cuisine and culture at its 2011 launch event.

There's something very exciting about summer in Lebanon, a season that friends, families, locals and tourists eagerly wait for. Arguably the best sign that summer has truly arrived is the yearly gala dinner hosted to launch the new season at the WaterGate Aqua Park, Le Royal Hotels & Resorts - Beirut.

This, however, is not simply a dinner by itself: it is where the gates to a heavenly summer open wide with many sensational surprises. To begin with, the event on May the 16th saw the country's high society come in their hundreds in anticipation of this year's extravaganza. "Every year we come up with something different, and this time we unveiled some intriguing ways to portray Lebanese culture and talent" said Joyce Mouawad, Corporate Director of Sales & Marketing. "After all, WaterGate has become an undisputable favorite of many Lebanese and foreign families who depend on it for awakening their summer senses."

Indeed, this year's opening was especially exciting with the launch of Tania Succar's Summer 2011 collection of evening gowns, showcased during an exclusive fashion show at WaterGate. Equally thrilling was the best Brazilian dance show ever, a powerful band performance by Musico Loco and a fresh breath of culture with the talented Eddy Aoun singing some stunning opera favorites. As if this wasn't enough, upcoming singer Betty Barrack delighted audiences with her voice and happening repertoire of songs, while Imad Keyrouz' oriental dance band impressed them with a 'zaffeh'-like show like no other. "This dynamic, vibrant mix of fashion, dance and music is really a celebration of the best of Lebanon and a true taste of summer" said Mouawad proudly.

Against all this backdrop, Le Royal's award-winning chefs who had recently earned several 'sumptuous' prizes at Horeca's Salon Culinaire launched their latest innovative menu at the poolside gala. "We want to keep on innovating with light and fresh menu choices, because this is what summer is all about and the good life in Lebanon has always been embodied in culinary excellence too" explained Mouawad to the VIPs and press who marveled at the evening.

In short, a Lebanese bouquet of fine food, fabulous fashion and amazing entertainment is truly what summer is all about, and nowhere was this more evident that at WaterGate's yearly rebirth. Naturally, the fireworks at the end of the evening served to crown an outstanding evening, reminding us all that the best of Lebanon is yet to come with this new summer season.
