Greenhouse gas reduction

Beirut, Lebanon, 23rd of October 2013 – Le Royal Hotels and Resorts has set a strategy to reduce its Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from its 2012 baseline by implementing several energy efficient projects. Le Royal Hotel’s GHG emission baseline was calculated using V4 Advisors’ internationally recognized online tool that is based on the GHG Protocol; developed by the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

Mrs. Joyce Mouawad, Corporate Sales & Marketing Director of Le Royal Hotel noted “Our commitment to deliver on our sustainability policy prompted us to push the limits via setting targets to reduce our GHG emissions. This commitment serves to provide continuous improvement to servicing our clients, proactively take part in combating climate change and contributing to Lebanon’s drive to become a low carbon economy.” Rawad Massoud, Executive Managing Director of V4 Advisors said, “One has to commend and applaud Le Royal’s push to set a target for GHG emission reduction, thus proving that their commitment to sustainability is continuously developing and implemented. Working with the Le Royal team is all about setting milestones and achieving them. V4 Advisors’ internationally recognized GHG auditing tools will give Le Royal’s drive credibility.”
