Le Royal puts Lebanon on the dessert map at the Coupe du Monde de la Patisserie

Lebanon’s culinary talents in making desserts were on display for all the world to see at the 2016 Coupe du Monde de la Patisserie, which was recently held in Geneva, Switzerland. Hospitality Services, organizers of the Horeca Exhibition and Salon Culinaire in Lebanon, was proudly responsible for the Lebanese delegation. In parallel, Le Royal Hotels & Resorts – Beirut supported the Lebanese team with one of its most talented pastry chefs, Mohammad Haidar, who made a valiant effort to showcase the best of the country’s talent abroad. “It was a very challenging contest and I was really honored to represent not only my hotel but my country as well” said Mohammad. While the prizes went to pastry chefs from Belgium, Denmark and Sweden, Haidar’s entry gained attention for its originality and was considered a strong contender among the entries of some of the finest pastry chefs on the globe.
The event shows Le Royal Beirut’s commitment to promoting its country and contributing to its fine reputation in gastronomy. It hopes to encourage several events such as this one in the future, as part of its values to support local heritage and culture both in the country and beyond borders.
